Wow, this reminds me of the capital we saw on the City of David tour near the step stone structure (as Dr Matzar mentioned it was found by Dr. Kathleen Kenyon) and the importance it played in recognizing the area as part of a ‘royal structure’ – we are getting one step closer all the time – hopefully, there should be some real exciting finds soon! Thank you for sharing this wonderful news with us all, Lynn Wilson.

The more I know about Jerusalem, the happier I am:) Would appreciate knowing the spelling of the author and title of the book that Dr Mazar shows us. On the capital on the bottom of the page, there is a circle above that capital. Am especially intrigued by that circle. Have seen it before in interesting places and am intrigued by the symbolism of it. It could be a signet or symbol of a royal house. Also, if you are looking for ideas for additional videos, perhaps the crew could get down to the Gihon Spring and the two Pool of Siloam sites or some of the exposed walls in the City of David with Dr. Mazar and tell us about those sites? Another idea would be to have the video team walk from the current site over to Area G and the stepstone site so we can see modern context that site is sitting in? and then maybe walk from there down to the Gihon Spring site?

That was supremely interesting to hear Dr. Mazar explain the Proto-Aeolic capital and its significance to the 1st temple period architecture!
